WHAT TO DO IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID DURING THE CONFERENCE
-
Please DO NOT come to the hotel lobby or registration desk to inform us of your positive test. It is important that you take steps to avoid exposing other hotel and conference guests as much as possible. Anyone who tests positive will not be allowed to enter the conference area for the rest of the weekend. We know this may be upsetting, but it is necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst our vulnerable patient population and other guests. We will provide you with a full refund for your conference registration if you test positive on Friday, or partial refunds if you test positive on Saturday or Sunday. We will also provide you with access to the recorded lectures via email as soon as they are available, about a month after the conference.
-
If you test positive, please wear a mask and isolate yourself from other individuals.
-
If you do not have a hotel room booked at the Hyatt:
-
Please depart the hotel as soon as it is safe for you to do so.
-
If there are other registered conference guests who have traveled with you to the conference or shared lodging with you, they will not be permitted to enter the conference either, and they will be issued a refund.
-
-
-
If you had previously booked a hotel room to stay overnight at the Hyatt:
-
The choice is yours to stay in your hotel room or depart the hotel.
-
The hotel will provide refunds for room nights canceled 24 hours in advance. The hotel front desk phone number is 703-713-1234.
-
You can checkout from your hotel room from the TV in your room. Please do not come to the hotel front desk.
-
If you do not depart the hotel, please make every attempt to stay in your room with the door closed. If you must leave your room to depart the hotel for medical care purposes, please mask and limit your exposure to others.
-
Room service and housekeeping will not come into your room until after you depart. If you need anything while in your hotel room, please call the front desk and your items will be brought and left outside of your room.
-
If there are other registered conference guests who have traveled with you to the conference or shared lodging with you, they will not be permitted to enter the conference either, and they will be issued a refund.

If you require medical assistance, here are some local resources that may be helpful. Even if you do not feel any symptoms, it may be worth talking to a doctor to see if you should begin Paxlovid, an oral tablet that is FDA-approved to treat COVID-19. Paxlovid works best when taken as soon as possible after a COVID-19 diagnosis. Please note, while there are many doctors at the conference, they are not able to provide medical services during the conference.
Dial 911 if ambulance transport is required.
